Who We Are

Parr James & Associates CC

Parr James & Associates is a leading South African Organisation Development consultancy recognised for its profound, people-centred and performance-driven change management interventions. Parr James was founded on the principle that global economic conditions are creating increased complexity for organisations which in turn creates the need for extraordinary skill in leadership, a culture of accountability and greater maturity in people. These competencies are nascent in most people but need to be proactively developed to enable organisations to grow.

Louise Parr & Associates was established in 1987 in response to a dawning recognition of the value that people can add if they are managed intelligently. In 1993 the company expanded, with the addition of a new partner and became known as Parr Lamond & Associates. It began to sharpen its focus on the cultivation of leadership excellence and leveraging corporate performance through organisational culture change and personal development.

In 2010, Pam Lamond retired and in 2011 the consultancy's name was changed to Parr James & Associates.

LOUISE PARR - BA M PHIL

Louise's career began as a lecturer in Professional Communication at the University of Cape Town (UCT). In 1987 she began consulting independently to meet the need for leadership and team development in business. In 1993 Louise was joined by Pam Lamond and Parr Lamond & Associates was formed, with its focus on strategic transformation in organisations. Subsequent to Pam’s retirement in 2010, Louise established Parr James & Associates and new horizons for growth have become marvellously apparent.

Louise believes business success hinges on providing leaders with the insight and skills to mould the identity of their organisations. On-going academic development is important to Louise and her Masters in Future Studies serves as a solid foundation for critical thought. But it is her ability to reflect carefully on her experience with corporate clients and offer practical advice that ensures her insights remain relevant. Louise’s abundant approach to life is reflected in her bountiful garden, where she regularly finds time to unwind. louise@parrjames.co.za

LAURA JAMES - B BUS SC (ORG PSYCH)

Laura joined the consultancy in 2008. Her introduction to organisation development was through a Business Science degree in organisational psychology at UCT. This academic grounding was bolstered by seven years' corporate experience in Human Resources and Learning & Development, in both London and Cape Town.

Her passion lies in deepening people’s insight, to increase their personal choice and enhance the way they live in the world. This awareness - combined with pragmatic leadership and management interventions - enables individuals, teams and organisations to develop their internal capacity for successful performance.

When not working or completing her Industrial Psychology Masters, she can be found rounding up the back-markers on her mountain bike or trying to keep pace with her hounds on the nearest greenbelt.

Pam Moore is a highly respected HR Specialist who brings her special brand of creativity to helping companies achieve competitive edge through their people strategies.

At the climax of her corporate career, as an executive in a key business division of Tiger Brands, she gained the practical experience of strategic marketing and branding alongside strategic HR. It provided the perfect launch pad for her current work which puts the customer brand at the heart of HR strategy.

Companies that have engaged with her range from corporate companies such as Woolworths and Parmalat to private brands, such as Sissy Boy and NGOs WWF-SA and Desmond Tutu Peace Centre.

Pam's insights and ideas are based on the latest thinking in the field. Sourcing and managing talent, equipping leaders with the capabilities to provide sound direction, put strategy into action and to foster a supportive culture where talent is developed, mentored and nurtured, these are the perennial HR issues that confront businesses.
